After the Emperor Shi Huang of Qin dynasty dead, his eighteenth son Hu Hai, takes the power with the help of Zhao Gao. So Hu Hai becomes the second emperor of Qin dynasty. But he has no ability to rule the country. So the power falls into Zhao Gao's hand,
Zhao Gao is still not satisfied, he wants to be the emperor himself. But he is afraid that the officials will not listen to him. So he decides to test these officials.
One day, Zhao Gao brings a deer to the court. He says to the emperor :" My majesty, I want to show you a very good horse. " The emperor looks at the deer carefully, then he says:" You are wrong, it's not a horse, it's a deer." But Zhao Gao says: " My majesty, please look carefully, it's really a horse. " The emperor looks at the deer again, says:" How does a horse have antlers on head?"
Zhao Gao turns to the officials, says loudly:" My majesty, if you don't believe, you can ask the officials." The officials are all confused, it's really a deer, why Zhao Gao calls it a horse. But when they look at the smile on Zhao Gao's face, they all understand. Some honest officials say:" It's not a horse, it's a deer. " But most of the officials argue :"No, my majesty, it's a very good horse."
After that, Zhao Gao kills all the honest officials.

赵高依然不满足，他想自己当皇帝。但是他害怕官员们不听他的。于是，他决定测试一下这些官员。
一天，赵高带了一只鹿到朝廷上。他对皇帝说：“陛下，我想让您看一只非常好的马。”皇帝仔细地看着这只鹿，他说：“你错了，它不是马，它是一只鹿。” 但是赵高说：“陛下，请仔细看，它的确是一只马啊！”皇帝又仔细地看了看这只鹿，他说：“马怎么会头上长角呢？”
赵高转向官员们，大声的说：“陛下，如果您不相信，您可以问一问官员们。”官员们都糊涂了，它确实是一只鹿，为什么赵高说它是一只马呢？ 但是，当他们看到赵高脸上的笑容的时候，他们都明白了。一些正直的官员们说：“它不是马，它是鹿。”但是大部分官员们反驳道：“不，陛下，它是一只好马！”
之后，赵高杀死了所有正直的官员。
