1.修饰可数：
Many
A great/large/good number of

Quite a few
A host of 建议使用这个词，在写作/口语中用起来比较新颖，能展示词汇多样性。
例句
The only child in China leads to a host of social problems.

2.修饰不可数：
Much
A great deal of + 名词
a great deal+形容词，副词
An amount of
A large amount of
Amounts of
Quite a little
A large sum of
例句
There is an amount of evidence to support their research results.
3.可数不可数皆可
谓语动词随修饰的名词：a (large) quantity of /quantities of (注：quantities of是个例外。无论其修饰可数不可数，谓语动词一律用复数）；
a lot of /lots of；(在写作与口语中尽量避免使用该词组，因为考官看得太多了)

例句
Plenty of rest will be beneficial to children’s health. 充足的休息将有助于孩子的健康。
This city has plenty of rainfall. 这个城市有丰沛的降水量。
1) A large number of 大量的，是一个中规中矩的词，修饰可数名词。
2) A large amount of 大量的
例句
There is a large amount of flood in the city after raining.
3）Be teeming with 充满着，许多
例句
Beijing is teeming with IT start-ups.
Start-up 名词.创办的公司，开机, 形容词 新成立的
4）A great deal 副词词性 具有“非常，许多，大量”之意
可单独使用，可用于修饰形容词或副词
He likes to jog a great deal. 他非常喜欢慢跑。
He has learnt a great deal from this book. 他从这本书上学了很多。
5）A great deal +of 形容词词性
只能用在表示不可数名词前，表示“大量的”
例句
He has given me a great deal of help.
A great deal of time

A great deal of effort
6）Quite a few, 不少，表示数量还没有特别多，但是已经开始出现“变多”的趋势。
例句
Quite a few rich people are considering immigration abroad.
7）A mass of = masses of 大量的。其后接可数名词和不可数名词均可。由它构成的词组作主语时，谓语动词的数取决于mass或masses.
例句
There are masses of ice in the river.
There is a mass of children in the yard.
其他的
8）Sufficient, 足够多的，Ample 丰富的，Abundant 丰富的，Adequate 丰富的，这四个词可互换使用。
