1:Learn as if you could not reach your object,and were fearing also lest you should lose it.
译文2:When learning something new,one should worry about being unable to reach it. When one has learnt something,one should worry about forgetting it.
译文3:Learn as if you were following someone whom you could not catch up,as though it were frightened.
Learn as if you could not reach your object,and were also)fearing lest you should lose it.
Butterfly in Love with Flower
Red Flowers Fade
Red flowers fade,green apricots appear still small,
When swallows pass
Over blue water that surrounds the garden wall.
Most willow catkins have been blown away,alas!
But there is no place where grows no sweet grass.
Without the wall there is a path within a swing.
A passer-by
Hears a fair maiden's laughter in the garden ring.
The ringing laughter fades to silence by and by;
For the enchantress the enchanted can only sigh.
(Translated by Xu Yuanchong)
Die Lian Hua
Spring Scene
Last red of blossoms fades,
Green are the apricots and small;
Now swallows skim
While emerald waters wind about the house,
And though most catkins have been blown away
No place on earth but the sweet grass will grow!
Within the wall a swing,without the highway;
There,passersby,
And there sweet girlish laughter,
But all too soon it fades away,that laughter,
Heart-breaking for a man with too much heart!
(Translated by Yang Xianyi)
The Butterfly Fluttering around the Flowers
Swallows darting,the limpid stream does past the house flow;
Flowers fading,unripe apricots are hanging green.
Fewer are willow catkins,for winds oft blow,
Yet everywhere fragrant grass and plants are seen!
On this side of the wall the passer-by is on this way, And a maid giggles on the swing on the other side.
No more giggling's heard when footsteps fade away:
Alas,the dumb should have the loving defied!
(Translated by Zhuo Zhenying)
